Delete your Mahaam account

How to delete your account in the Mahaam app or on the web, what happens to your data, and what to do if you can't sign in.

Help

The app and its developer

This page is about deleting your account in Mahaam, the project management and time tracking app, developed by Fady Mondy. You have one Mahaam account for the mobile app (iPhone, iPad and Android), the web, the desktop app and the browser extension, so deleting it in one place deletes it everywhere.

In the mobile app

  1. Open Mahaam and sign in.
  2. Tap the gear icon at the top to open Settings.
  3. Under Danger zone, tap Delete account.
  4. Enter your password, and a code from your authenticator app if you use two-factor authentication.
  5. Tick the box to confirm that you understand, then tap Delete my account.

You're signed out straight away.

On the web

  1. Sign in to Mahaam and open any of your workspaces.
  2. Open your account menu at the top of the page and choose My profile.
  3. At the bottom, under Delete account, choose Delete my account.
  4. Enter your password, and a code from your authenticator app if you use two-factor authentication.
  5. Choose Delete account to confirm.

If you aren't in any workspace, use the mobile app, or email us as described below.

If you own a workspace

If you're the only owner of a workspace, you first need to make another member an owner or delete that workspace; the app lists the workspaces concerned when you try. This keeps one account from taking a whole team's work down with it.

Deleting a workspace deletes its content, such as its projects, tasks, time and invoices, for everyone in it.

What happens next

  • Straight away: you're signed out everywhere at once, and every access token, device and connected agent stops working.
  • For 14 days: you can change your mind. Signing in again during those 14 days cancels the deletion.
  • After 14 days: the account is permanently anonymised. Your email address, name, picture and password are removed, and so are your workspace memberships, your inbox, your devices (including their notification tokens) and your connections. This can't be undone.

What is kept, and why

Work you did in a shared workspace, such as comments, or time entries on an invoice, stays with that workspace, attributed to a deleted user. It's part of other people's records, such as a team's project history or a client's invoice. To ask for something you wrote there to be removed, contact the workspace's owners.

Our servers' technical logs and crash reports are kept for a limited time and then deleted. If a workspace paid for a plan, its billing records are held by Polar, our merchant of record, under Polar's own terms. The Privacy Policy has the details.

If you can't sign in

If you can't sign in, for example because you no longer have access to your email address, or you lost your phone and your two-factor recovery codes, email [email protected] with the subject Delete my account. Write from the email address on the account if you still can. We'll confirm that the account is yours before we delete it, and we'll answer within 30 days. The same 14-day grace period and the same rules apply.

If you'd like a copy of your data before it goes, ask at the same address.
